Sean Jacobs
Senior Consultant

Sean Jacobs is a Senior Consultant with the Stevenson Group. He currently serves as a Senior Policy Analyst with the municipal government authority in Dunedin, New Zealand.
An Australian citizen, he has served as a senior policy adviser to all levels of the Australian and Papua New Guinean governments, and brings expertise in the areas of policy development and analysis; stakeholder assessment; project review; government engagement; and security policy development for major events (the G20 2014 Leaders’ Summit and the 2018 Commonwealth Games).
Sean is also a former Adviser to the Australian National Security Adviser, and has served in two capacities in Papua New Guinea – a consultant to a United Nations safe cities project in Port Moresby and a Liaison Specialist at the Manus Regional Processing Centre at Lombrum Naval Base, Manus Island.
He currently serves on a number of Australian boards, including Advance Australia, the Australian Monarchist League and the Australian National Flag Association.
A former Australian Institute of International Affairs Emerging Scholar, Sean’s published work on governance, politics, development, economics, leadership, security and diplomacy has featured in multiple Australian and international publications.
He holds a B.A. (International Relations) from Australia’s Griffith University, a Postgraduate Certificate in Policing, Intelligence and Counter Terrorism from Macquarie University, and qualifications from the Australian National Security College at the Australian National University.
