Gen John Phillips, USAF, Ret.
John Phillips is a Senior Fellow with Afilon, Inc. He spent 28 years in the United States Air Force, retiring at the rank of Major General. General Phillips left the Air Force at the request of the White House to become the Deputy Under Secretary of Defense for Logistics. He managed a budget of $114 Billion and 850,000 personnel. He was responsible for logistics planning for Desert One and Bosnia-Herzegovina military operations. He was program manager of the successful KC-10 tanker conversion and TR-1 major modification Programs. He organized and commanded the first Joint Logistics Systems Center in DOD responsible for computer systems development. As commander of the Sacramento Air Logistics Center he oversaw refurbishing front line Air Force aircraft and developing classified microelectronics for satellites, radars and aircraft.
John Phillips was Vice President of Honeywell International aftermarket programs. He developed a new business program to repair and overhaul Honeywell equipment on military weapon systems. He led the Honeywell team to a $1.7Billion contract award of the Air Force Space Lift Range program. John joined The Home Depot as Vice President of the Government Solutions Group, which he formed. He got Home Depot into the DOD outsourcing and privatization business for the first time. He led a team to win a $1.3Billion contract award to support military family housing at Fort Drum New York.
Prior to joining The Stevenson Group he developed a consulting company that includes companies doing business in China, South Korea, Iraq, Afghanistan, and Africa.
John Phillips has over 250 awards and commendations and has completed numerous schools. During his Air Force Career, he was a pilot with over 3,000 flying hours including 300 hours in combat.
