Angus Simmons
Director - China

Angus Simmons is a proven international trade expert with experience in China, India, Myanmar and Iraq. He set up several Provincial Reconstruction Teams in Iraq, and successfully led numerous projects including building of schools, health clinics, university facilities and bridges. He also coordinated with Iraqi authorities and the U.S. Military, to build and open Najaf International Airport, the first civilian airport in South-Central Iraq which has facilitated travel and economic progress in the region. Angus served for over thirty years as a U.S. diplomat, with broad experience in the Asia Pacific region. He served as Consul General in Mumbai, India, and Shenyang, China; and Deputy Chief of Mission in Rangoon, Burma (Myanmar) and Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. In Japan, he worked on market access for U.S. high-tech industries including computers and semiconductors. While China Director at the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative, he negotiated on such issues as intellectual property, WTO accession and arrangements to permit the launch of U.S. satellites on Chinese rockets. He has served as board chair of two international schools, and is currently President of the Ventura County Chinese American Association. Located in Southern California, he is also a principal in the Asian American All Green Trading Company, which distributes and markets healthy products.
